On the 1st April 2022 Hart District Council will be changing its current Housing Register software system and introducing a new one.

For us to have time to ensure we can contact all of those on our waiting list and give you time to re-register we will NOT be accepting new applications from 00:01 on 28th February 2022.

Therefore, between now and then if you apply and are accepted you will be given the link to the new system when the time comes to re-register, however you may prefer to wait until April to stop you having to apply twice in a short space of time.

The changes and re-registration will NOT affect your existing housing application in any way, as assessed priority banding and bed size need and effective dates will remain the same provided you re-apply during the 4-week window in April 2022. More info to follow.

Please note we are aware that when opening the Hart Homes website you may see a message advising that the website is 'not secure'. We have checked with our system provider who have confirmed that the site is secure, and the message is only appearing due to a technical issue.

Now you have joined the housing register you need to prepare for when you are offered your home.

  • A minimum 2 weeks rent in advance will be required at the point of sign up The turnaround from point of nomination to sign up can take place quickly, so you need to factor this in when making your bids and put something aside each week towards this.
  • Please note your new home will come without white goods (oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine) or flooring (carpets), so you will need to provide these yourself.  Secondhand goods can be found on Facebook marketplace, charity shops, Lions community stores or family and friends.
